Microsoft Corp has already put its name to a special bundle assembled by Packard Bell Electronics Inc, calling it the Microsoft Station by Packard Bell (CI No 2,812). Now it is lending its name – and keyboard and mouse – to an offering from a rather weightier contender, Hewlett-Packard Co. According to the Wall Street Journal, the new Vectra will be labeled the Hewlett- Packard and Microsoft Small Business Center, and as well as the Microsoft mouse and keyboard, it will come with Windows95 and 10 bundled applications. Target markets are doctors’ surgeries, retailers and other businesses that don’t have a staff of computer professionals. The new line, to cost from $1,300 to $3,300, is expected in mid-April.
