The bill creating Brazil’s new General Telecommunications Law, is now expected to go to Congress’s lower house this week, the Communications Ministry said. The bill will create a comprehensive law for Brazil’s telecoms sector, establishing a regulatory watchdog, conventional phone service regulations and rules outlining the transfer of the federal Telebras into private hands.
