Anyone that recklessly gambles other people’s money in arcane financial derivatives, recognised by the prudent as the respectable face of pyramid selling, should be forceably restrained, so bankrupt Orange County – which houses such leading US computer industry companies as Western Digital Corp, AST Research Inc, Advanced Logic Research Inc and a host of others – is receiving little sympathy for its plight, and unkind people are saying that the county that houses Disneyland had a Mickey Mouse treasury department – but many people will be hurt by the bankruptcy, and the County plans to present a proposal to Motorola Inc next month asking the company to help out in financing its planned $82m wireless communication system.
