In what it calls a new generation facilities management deal, J P Morgan & Co is forming a strategic alliance with Computer Sciences Corp, Anderson Consulting, AT&T Corp’s AT&T Solutions and Bell Atlantic Corp’s Network Integration, to manage parts of Morgan’s global technology in a seven-year agreement worth more than $2bn. The Pinnacle Alliance will manage data centers in New York, London and Delaware and distributed computing, voice and data services in the three centers and in Paris too. This represents around a third of Morgan’s annual $1,000m technology expenditure. All the company’s 900 employees will be taken on by one of the alliance companies. The firm expects to save some 15% on projected costs over the seven years.
