The Argentine state-owned Banco de la Nacion Argentina has now taken the drastic step of canceling that problematic $249m contract with IBM Corp, saying it made its decision based on technical and judicial reports it commissioned to review the contract: the contract is at the center of a federal investigation into defrauding the state, tax evasion and bribes that has led to the indictments of some 30 officials from Banco Nacion, IBM and the government – which is now reviewing a string of other IBM contracts.
