Media Logic Inc’s new MediaLogic ADL Inc unit in Boulder, Colorado has topped off its Scalable Library Architecture line of tape libraries with the The SLA-D automated data library, which stores up to 2Tb when configured with seven Digital Linear Tape drives from Quantum Corp, which bought the line from Digital Equipment Corp: the drives transfer at more than 1Gb per minute; designed for applications using IBM Corp’s Hierarchical Storage Management, the subsystems use drives that carry 20Gb per cartridge and make up to 280Gb of data available at any one time; the SLA-D libraries will be available in first quarter 1995; no price given.
