Canon USA Inc and friends came together at the company’s Digital Solutions Forum ’96 to promote Canon Connects and suggest that the Japanese company can, by supporting multiple standards, succeed in tying together disparate pieces of office equipment where Microsoft At Work failed. It previewed Novell Inc NEST Novell Embedded Systems Technology-enabled office systems that will be integrated with NetWare, Windows NT, OS/400 and Solaris systems. Canon has developed NetSpot device management software to provide network printer and digital multifunction system set-up and management controls – where multifunction systems can include printing, sending facsimile messages, scanning, copying and image filing. NetSpot supports SNMP, IPX/SPX, AppleTalk and NetBIOS products.
