Los Angeles, California-based Visual Software Inc has launched Visual Reality for Windows, a three dimensional graphics and animation product targeted at designers and graphic artists. It brings together the firm’s five application offerings. The key aspects include Renderize Live, which is an animation and three-dimensional rendering tool enabling the combination of work carried out in other modules of the product. Once created, the images can then be animated as they would be seen if moving around the image. Visual Image enables the user to put together pictures and images of any resolution or colour depth that have been scanned in or created by the user. The user can perform multi-layer image processing and modify the look or colour of the image. Alterations and deletions can be made independently of each other as each element of and design is stored on a separate level. The three-dimensional models can be made using Visual Model and Visual Font assists creation of two- or three-dimensional fonts, which can be added to a scene. The Visual Player application plays animations in FLI and FLC formats frame by frame. Included with the product is the Visual CD ClipArt Library with 500 images of objects such as buildings and furniture which can be read into the image being created. While ImageCels offers background textures such as brick or wood effects to add to the objects or background of the user’s artistic creation. Visual Reality for Windows has minimum configuration requirements of a 33MHz 80486 with maths co-processor, 8Mb RAM, 40Mb disk space, 800 by 600 Super VGA, Microsoft Windows 3.1 and 1.44Mb floppy drive. It is available now from Visual Software Exports Ltd in Guernsey. Datatechnology Datech Ltd has been appointed UK distribution partner. The firm has signed a joint development and marketing agreement with Digital Equipment Corp to convert Visual Reality to Windows NT and Alpha AXP: this will be available later this quarter for the same price.
