Westborough, Massachusetts-based American Superconductor Corp reports that it and Hoechst AG are not to proceed with their joint development work on high temperature superconductor materials, and funding by Hoechst will be concluded with the completion of the current 18-month programme this week; the two were developing superconducting powders for use in making wires and achieved the principal objectives; terms of an on-going tie-up will be reviewed as the present one ends.
