Tadiran Ltd, Tel Aviv, Israel, is in talks with IBM Corp on strategic co-operation in the software sector, Tadiran said, in parallel to negotiations the Israeli company is holding with Electronic Data Systems Corp. Electronic Data and Tadiran began discussing co-operation last October, and an accord was to be signed by the end of 1995, but when the deadline was missed, EDS asked to extend the negotiations. It is negotiating an investment of $9m in Tadiran’s Tadiran Information Systems subsidiary in exchange for 50% of the subsidiary’s shares (CI No 2,763). Terms being negotiated with IBM are similar to those under discussion with EDS – but only one can win.
