The International Computer Facsimile Association will merge with the US Electronic Messaging Association as part of the latter’s plan to broaden its focus. Under the pact, existing members of international association, who will automatically become members of the US association, will form the new Electronic Messaging Association Computer Facsimile Committee, which will concentrate on facsimile systems. The new committee will continue the international Association’s existing projects, including its work representing the facsimile industry in national and international standards bodies and promoting the technology. Ultimately, the US body hopes to use the merger to promote full integration of facsimile technology with other messaging types.
