Memorex Telex NV’s Memorex Telex Corp and three affiliates have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection – for the third time in six years. The company previously filed for bankruptcy protection in 1992 and 1994. Memorex Telex listed assets of $111.6m and liabilities of $255.8m. Also filing for protection were the Memorex Telex of Puerto Rico, Tulsa Computer Products and Memorex Telex Services affiliates. The other two filings were so-called pre-packaged filings where the company has agreed an exit route with most of its creditors before seeking protection. No other information about the bankruptcy was immediately available.
