SAP has launched new Solution Manager 7.1, a premier application management offering that provides total application life-cycle management by offering control mechanisms for both SAP and non-SAP environments.
The new offering includes new features benefitting all customers, and additional capabilities for customers using SAP Enterprise Support services or other premium maintenance offerings from SAP.
The Solution Manager 7.1 provides companies one management platform for their entire portfolio of SAP offerings, said the company.
Management tools for designing, graphical blueprinting, testing, configuring, deploying, monitoring and operating will integrate into the platform with oversight over SAP and non-SAP technologies, the company added.
SAP active global support executive vice-president Uwe Hommel said the release of SAP Solution Manager 7.1 is the ultimate in application life-cycle management.
"We listened to our customers and designed a preconfigured and powerful management tool that goes outside the SAP landscape, delivering value throughout the entire enterprise," Hommel said.
The Solution Manager 7.1 is planned for general availability in August 2011.
