Santa Clara, California-based Bay Networks Inc, successor company to Synoptics Communications Inc and Wellfleet Communications Inc has won one of those contracts that its constrituents reckoned needed the extra muscle to bid on: it has won a multi-year, multimillion dollar project to re-engineer Chase Manhattan Corp’s worldwide trading floor network – Chase estimates the entire cost of building and equipping its New York trading floor with hubs and all other information technology systems to be $95m and the project will begin with the installation of about 100 System 5000 hubs in Chase’s New York facility, followed by similar networks in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney over the next few years.
