Micro Focus Group Plc has opened a main office in Barcelona and another in Madrid. The move follows its purchase of Intelligent Software Solutions SA, which had been the authorised distributor of the company’s products in Spain. Micro Focus Espana SA now employs 16 staff who offer after-sales service and consultancy service. The company aims to market its Cobol-based business productivity solutions to large and medium-sized companies, banks, industry, Public Administration and software developers. It predicts a turnoverof at least $2.17m for 1994. Micro Focus has just reported a 39.7% drop in first half profits from last year, at UKP4.7m
