Compagnies des Machines Bull SA has formed a joint venture in Kazakhstan with local partners KABIS, The Kazakh Association of Banks for Information Systems, a Bull business partner, and state organisation Ulan. The company, Bulak, will represent the interests of Bull in Kazakhstan and will be the sole distributor of all the French state company’s products. The joint venture is majority-owned by Bull. Kabis had previously been a reseller authorised to do service. Bulak will now handle the whole range of Bull products and services. In May 1993 , Bull won a $5m contract to supply a personal computer-based installation to the Central Bank of Kazakhstan.
