The 2,000 or so SCO Forum attendees have been promised the first public unveiling of Network Computers from hardware vendors such as Sun Microsystems Inc, Unisys Corp and Wyse Technology Inc, and more details of Project Gemini, the code name for Santa Cruz Operation Inc’s next-generation Unix that will finally merge its own OpenServer with the UnixWare operating system it acquired from Novell Inc.
Also at the Forum, Oracle Corp is showing its Oracle7 Parallel Server running on UnixWare 2.1 iAPX-86 systems from various vendors – the first time, it says, that fail-over clustering of kit from several vendors has been shown to be viable.
