IBM Corp will integrate AdStar Distributed Storage Management software for client-server environments, with Avail Systems Corp’s hierarchical storage management software, NetSpace for NetWare. IBM says the integration will enable users of the AdStar product to access file server information managed by NetSpace. Avail will develop a software link between the two products that will enable data maintained in file directories on local networks to be migrated, stored and managed on large scale systems managed by AdStar. Avail claims to have 70% of the installed NetWare market for storage management systems. The link will be available as an add on module to NetSpace in July, prices then.
