KT, a communications service provider in South Korea, has selected an integrated suite of Oracle Communications applications and technology for its next-generation Billing, Service Delivery Platform (SDP) and Operational Support Systems (OSS).

With the Oracle-based systems, KT will be able to transform its business platform to offer IP-based converged services quickly while addressing rapidly changing market demands.

KT expects the new platform will help the company improve customer satisfaction while lowering operational and network costs.

In order to ensure maximum flexibility in offer creation, payment options and partner management, KT will implement Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management.

KT also plans to accelerate the introduction of triple play services via Oracle Communications Service Delivery products. The company expects that provisioning of value added services will increase average revenue per user and improve customer loyalty, said the company.

Further, KT will deploy Oracle’s Rapid Offer Design and Order Delivery (RODOD) offering to shorten order cycles with complete visibility across the order lifecycle and reduce operational costs through advanced order management capabilities and integrations.

KT has selected Oracle’s Operational Support Systems applications including Oracle Communications Unified Inventory Management and Oracle Communications Network Integrity, and the following Oracle Communications Activation Applications: Communications Internet Protocol Service Activator (IPSA) and Communications Automatic Service Activation Program (ASAP), to enable the organisation to maximise operational efficiency and return on investment, said the company.

Oracle communications senior vice-president and general manager Bhaskar Gorti said KT is undertaking a business transformation that will set the framework for improved customer service today and continued growth for the future.

"We are pleased the organisation has selected Oracle offerings, which have already been adopted by the top 20 carriers globally; Oracle will support KT to establish innovative platforms and offer IP-based convergent services for the 4G era while reducing operational costs," Gorti said.
