Technicolor has launched a new scalable, flexible and secure media storage solution, Technicolor Media Storage Service (TMSS).

The new solution is designed and managed by NetApp, an enterprise storage and data management company.

Technicolor said its Media Storage Service is optimized to support the unique needs of content owners, aggregators and distributors in the shift from physical to digital media.

The new service provides "pay-as-you-go" pricing that allows customers to scale storage to meet demand fluctuations, and not over-invest in off-peak periods.

TMSS also helps users reduce administrative overhead and simplify IT operations by leveraging NetApp Professional Services experts to administer critical storage management tasks, allowing the customer to focus and invest resources in their core offerings, said the company.

Technicolor chief commercial officer Chuck Parker said they are very pleased to announce this new storage service in partnership with NetApp. Technicolor has long been trusted to preserve and protect the valued assets of its content-owner customers, and they are pleased to continually establish new services such as TMSS to support our customers through the digital transition.
