And Autodesk Inc, Sausalito, California has acquired full rights to Mediashare Inc’s object-oriented multimedia authoring technology. This acquisition marks Autodesk’s first foray into interactive technology, and is expected to result in Windows-based authoring tools that will complement the firm’s established line of two- and three-dimensional graphics and animation software tools. Developed from a standard scripting language, it will enable customers and developers to build multimedia components to be used in a variety of vertical markets. Existing users of authoring technology in training, kiosk, education and game development will benefit from its more open, component-based architecture.
