The BellSouth Telecommunications Inc unit of BellSouth Corp, Atlanta, Georgia, is buying fibre-optic systems designed and developed by Cleveland, Ohio-based Reliance Comm/Tec Corp for use throughout its nine-state region in the southeastern US: Reliance, part of Reliance Electric Co, will supply the systems for three years initially.
