Cisco Systems Inc, Apple Computer Inc, Compaq Computer Corp and Digital Equipment Corp are founding members of an industry group set up to incorporate computer technology into cable television architecture: the Louisville, Colorado-based Cable Information Technology Convergence Forum, conceived by cable research and development consortium CableLabs, was formed to address the fact that as new emerging hybrid digital cable networks call for a number of new products, new relationships are needed to make their development possible with the help of companies involved in telecommunications, computing, data networking, telephone and interactive television; the Forum will demonstrate advanced cable networking technologies at CableNET ’94: The Convergence Laboratory which is to be held at the Western Cable Show in Anaheim November 30 to December 2.
