Vanguard Integrity Professionals, a provider of enterprise security software for System z, has said that a US bank holding company has selected its Administrator and Advisor software to protect their new z/OS RACF security environment.
Under the agreement, Vanguard professional services team will assist the bank with its migration to RACF.
In addition, Vanguard will also deploy its security administration and reporting tools post migration.
The bank has over a dozen full service community banks and more than 200 locations, has recently migrated to IBM Security Server (RACF).
Vanguard’s professional services team’s strengths include: experience managing migrations from other security subsystems to RACF; ability to complete migrations and implementations; customised approach to meeting all of the bank’s requirements; and customer support during and after migrations.
Vanguard senior professional services consultant Art Hatfield-Mihelic said the bank, after evaluating alternative z/OS security software options, chose Vanguard Administrator and Advisor because ease of use and learning were critical requirements.
"The bank’s security team immediately realised that Vanguard tools are easy to deploy and use, and don’t require extensive RACF training," Mihelic said.
