CBR editor Jason Stamper recently caught up with Red Hat president and CEO Jim Whitehurst to understand the latest developments as well as his vision for the company. He told CBR about his former life in the airline industry, his thoughts on the JBoss and other potential future acquisitions, and why it is important that Red Hat is about to become the first independent open source company to break the $1bn revenue barrier.

Whitehurst also explained the recent acquisition of a cloud firm and how he articulates Red Hat’s cloud strategy. He also told us about why Novell’s "hybrid" model didn’t work.
