Candle Corp confirms it is getting into the groupware management business and will purchase Scarborough, Maine-based CleverSoft Inc which develops management software for Lotus Development Corp Notes. Candle and Cleversoft will develop interoperability between Candle’s Command Center mainframe systems management software and the Lotus management software. It will allow adminstrators to manage groupware and legacy systems from a single point. Cleversoft last month announced CleverAnalysis, said to allow Notes administrators to manage complex Notes environments by focusing on capacity analysis, planning and reporting. It has a Microsoft VBA Excel application interface. CleverAnalysis is the second in a suite of tools that will comprise the Notes Administrators Tool Kit which is due later this quarter. No financial terms were given.
