The one supplier to British Telecommunications Plc’s video-on-demand trials that slipped through the net was Alcatel NV, which will be supplying a fibre optic alternative for trial alongside the copper wire system: Alcatel says its offering supplies full motion video from what it dubs the Alcatel Video Server over Passive Optical Network.
