Using a grant from the European Community, UK telecommunication consultant InterConnect Communications, have established the Moscow Business and Telecommunications Training Centre, in co-operation with the Ministry of Communications and the Moscow Technical University of Communications & Informatics. The European Union funding has covered the production of training materials, training of eight trainers from the Moscow Technical University of Communications & Informatics, classroom and computer equipment. The Centre is equipped to provide training to managers in the telecommunications industry. Courses will include all aspects of managing a telecommunications service company as well as specialist areas of technology and network planning. Moscow Cellular Communications already plans to use the centre for training its managers, running a course initially used by Mercury Communications Ltd in the UK.
