Cadence Design Systems Inc’s Comdisco Systems acquisition, now called The Alta Group and based in Foster City, California, is making its own acquisition, buying Redwood Design Automation Inc of San Jose on undisclosed terms. Redwood Design is a pioneer of Electronic System Design Automation, which extends automation to the specification and exploration stage, with products for the microprocessor, embedded systems, multimedia and telecommunications markets.
