Following Sun Microsystems Inc pace for pace, Milpitas, California-based Sparcsystems builder Tatung Science & Technology Inc has taken itself off to Fujitsu Ltd’s Ross Technology unit and will begin delivering 100MHz and 125MHz HyperSparc-based workstations in the next couple of weeks. The Taiwanese company says that its SuperCompstation 20 Model HS14MP will accommodate up to four 100MHz parts. The Model HS22MP is fitted with two 125MHz HyperSparcs, while the HS21 has a single 125MHz processor. They will be fitted with 32Mb of memory, a 1Gb drive, 20 colour screen and TurboGX graphics as standard. The uniprocessor model starts at $16,615, the HS14MP is from $26,265. The machines can be expanded to as much as 512Mb of memory, 8Gb of disk, four Sbus slots and TurboGX+ graphics.
