FrontRange Solutions, a provider of IT service management, IT asset management and customer service management offerings, has launched its new network inventory and auditing offering FrontRange Discovery 9.1.

FrontRange Discovery 9.1 offers auditing capabilities across multiple device types, platforms and locations, enabling organisations to track all IT assets across and beyond the corporate network, the company said.

The new offering features WMI data query engine and reporting, new-look web user interface, improved software management reporting views in Web user Interface, and LANprobe enhancements.

It also includes MSI client deployment options, enhanced access control security, silent installation support, and new active directory integration for OU structure & asset location.

With the new WMI querying capabilities, IT managers can now report on over 4,000 different configuration items, which can dramatically cut the labor involved in upgrading or replacing IT assets, the company said.

New software reports reduce the administrative effort involved in managing software usage and licensing by making it easier to see what applications have been recently installed on the network in a given time.

FrontRange Discovery 9.1 also features user-driven enhancements, such as increased security, new client agent deployment options and support for newer networking protocols such as SNMP v3.

FrontRange said that the release of the new offering complements the recent launch of FrontRange License Manager 3.2, which integrates with Discovery to provide an effective Software Asset Management offering designed to help organisations reduce software spend and achieve license compliance.
