The Pixnet system for building wide area networks around IBM Corp mainframes more cheaply than with SNA were once Paradyne Corp’s pride and joy, but these days they are seen as surplus to requirements, and the Largo, Florida company, now AT&T Paradyne, has signed a memorandum of understanding to sell the rights to the Pixnet XL channel extension technology to TechForce Corp of Atlanta, granting it the exclusive right to manufacture, distribute and service this product line on a worldwide basis. AT&T Paradyne will continue to provide field service support to customers under contract with TechForce and will continue to manufacture the Pixnet XL products under contract with TechForce.
