Apple Espana recently announced its results for 1993, with turnover dropping 15% to $56.3m. However, the number of units sold rose 6% to 36,800, bringing the total number of Macs installed in Spain to over 166,000. Profits for 1993 were not disclosed. Apple Espana’s president, Pedro Riera, shrugged off this downturn in the company’s fortunes, saying that the company was alive and kicking, with plenty of projects in mind and a clear strategy for the future. Macs are now doing more for less money, he added, as he announced the imminent PowerPC architecture for forthcoming equipment.
