BULL FORMS UNIKIX INTO SEPARATE DOWNSIZING COMPANY

Billerica, Massachusetts-based Bull HN Information Systems Inc has created a separate business unit, UniKix Technologies, to handle its UniKix enterprise downsizing business. UniKix, which is structured around the UniKix Unix emulator of IBM Corp’s CICS transaction processing monitor, was formerly part of Bull’s Integris systems integration business. UniKix supports the CICS application programming interface and provides functionality for converting IBM CICS/Cobol VSAM and DB2 production and batch applications to Unix systems, and Bull sees it becoming one of its fastest-growing businesses.
