Apple has also launched a new line of low cost Ethernet boards, cables and connectors which it says are significantly faster than its existing offerings. Macintosh Ethernet drivers have often been criticised by users for the lacklustre performance, significantly below the nominal 10Mbps capacity. It says that the new drivers will increase network performance by about 25% and that the new LC 10Base-T board will sell for around $100 when it ships in the US at the month-end.
