The Confederation Francaise Democratique de Travail union has told Compagnie des Machines Bull SA that it will not take part in the upcoming two meetings to negotiate the company’s social contract, which were aimed at starting afresh to establish working conditions: in a letter to management, the union denounced procedures for inexpensive, disguised lay-offs and a management method based on stress and fear; as a condition for resuming negotiations, it demands a guarantee that staff levels will be maintained until the end of 1995, a discussion about spin-off projects and transfers, and detailed information about the branch management proposals and work-time reduction.
