Conner Peripherals Inc nominated vice-chairman William Schroeder to give the company perspective, and he told the conferenc that after a tumultuous year in the disk drive business, the company would concentrate on profitability and predictability this year, noting that Conner has been substantially streamlined with headcount and costs sharply lowered. The drumbeat within the company is focus on profitability and focus on predictability, Schroeder told the conference. He said Conner would be looking to increase market share in disk drives with blue ribband or top tier computer manufacturers, adding that he expects the company’s 210Mb disk drive to become its standard product that would meet the needs of nearly 50% of computer users. We have a brand new disk drive product cycle and we are at the cusp of that now, he said.
