Artisoft Inc, Tucson, Arizona is expanding the hardware side of its business with the acquisition of FDDI, Token Ring and Ethernet boards manufacturer Eagle Technology Inc of San Jose from its present owner, Anthem Electronics Inc. Artisoft Inc will pay about $9.9m plus assumption of some liabilities and other obligations for the core assets and rights of the business with completion set for today. Anthem will take a pre-tax charge of up to $8m on the sale.
