A Chromebook is a laptop that runs Google’s Chrome operating system, rather than Windows 10 or Mac OS X.

The machines are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, this is because the majority of the applications and documents live in the cloud, rather than on the device.

This is because there is typically very little storage space on a Chromebook. The pro of this is that it makes the device light to carry around and quick to start, as they use solid state drives.

What is the one big downside to Chromebooks?

The con of this is that users need to be connected to the internet in order to access files or to run the web apps.

Chromebooks are particularly good for users that want a cheap machine that can be used for more lightweight tasks such as checking email, catching up with TV programs and doing other general low-level work.

Battery life is typically good for Chromebooks, often lasting more than 10 hours and up to 14 hours.
