Nokia Beta labs has launched Bubbles, a new way to unlock and operate the phone.

The company said that when the phone is in sleep mode, the user can press Apps button, touch the Bubbles to unlock phone, view messages and missed calls.

The new Bubbles can be used to: unlock the phone, view/respond to missed calls, access FM radio, view messages, control music player and also to change profile.

Nokia said that by using Bubbles, users can even call/message three friends, show users current location using Ovi Maps, change the Bubbles screen background, and activate the backlight to use as a flashlight.

Further, the Bubbles can also be used to know the battery charging requirements, and to display the statistics about bubble speed and distance.
