Fujitsu and Fuji Xerox have said that they will jointly launch an eco offering, available only in Japan, which would enable the monitoring of the operation and power consumption (CO2 emission) of computers and multifunctional devices and printers.
The new offering monitors the CO2 emission of computers and Fuji Xerox’s multifunction devices and printers, on a network by linking the software of both companies, said the companies.
The new offering is an attempt in the ICT industry to forge software integration to centrally control power consumption data of individual computers and output devices leveraging operational management software.
Fujitsu’s operational management software Systemwalker Desktop Keeper V14g manages the number of outputs from multi-function devices, and printouts from dedicated printers.
The companies said that the new offering will facilitate better ICT device administration and optimum layout planning and achieve reduction of both environmental impact and costs.
