uTorrent is a free piece of software that is used to download large files in a file sharing environment.
The program was launched in September 2005 and was built by Luvig Strigeus and it is part of BitTorrent’s portfolio.
It has 100 million users worldwide and is available in 67 different languages. The program is designed to work on the major mobile and desktop operating systems, including Windows, Linux, Android and OS X.

uTorrent has been written in C++ and has also been designed to be a lightweight file in anyone’s computer or mobile device.
On a computer running OS X, the program weights only 1.29 MB. With Windows, it goes up to 1.66 MB and in a Linux system weights just over 2 MB.
The Android version is the one that requires more storage space, as the uTorrent file weights 8.69 MB.
The latest version of the software dates from March 2016 in the case of OS X, May 2016 in Windows and June 2016 for Android.
