Microsoft Outlook is typically known as an email management product.
Officially, Microsoft Outlook is a personal information manager product that offers capabilities such as email, a calendar, task manager and more.
The product has email capabilities to receive, send and organise email and can also acts as a calendar, task manager, contact manager, note taking platform, journal and web browser.
Outlook was Microsoft’s answer to the growing internet landscape and consequently emails. It replaced Schedule+ and Exchange Client.
The program is written in C++ and allows mobile devices to synchronise most Outlook data to Outlook Mobile.
What new features have been added?
The latest version of Outlook is Outlook 2016 launched in September 2015. This is the 16th version of the product.
The new version lets users browse and create new groups by having added two new buttons to the system: ‘new group’ and ‘ browse groups’.
Microsoft has also made archiving easier with the addition of one archive button.
Outlook 2016 has also been optimised in terms of email address internationalisation, enabling users to send and receive email from any email addresses regardless of the language of the email address.
