Instagram is a social media platform that allows users to share videos and photos.

The free mobile photo-sharing app lets people share videos and pictures either publicly or privately, as well as allowing the sharing of images through other social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

Users can use Instagram on desktops, however, the platform has been built to run on mobile. Special non-official desktop apps exist for users who want to use it on desktop.

One of the major features of Instagram is the ease at which users com modify and edit their photos and videos. This is done using ‘filters’ that alter the colour, tone, brightness, shadows, etc, of a picture or a video.
