EE is bringing Wi-Fi to this year’s Glastonbury Festival via a series of large-scale topiary structures that offer free 4G Wi-Fi.
The hotspots will enable multiple users to login at the same time and experience superfast 4G speeds and instant uploading.
The hotspots will be available to everyone from 10am to 10pm on Thursday through to Sunday. They will be placed at popular locations across the site.
EE said the hotspots will provide free WiFi to festival-goers using cutting (h)edge technology powered by its superfast 4G network to keep everyone connected.
The ‘hedgeliners’ have been styled to look like three of the iconic landmarks at Worthy Farm, including the Pyramid Stage, the Park Tower and the Arcadia Spider.
Free 4G WiFi for festival-goers is part of the wider technology offering from EE on site which includes developing the official Glastonbury 2016 app, a triple-capacity 4G network, and phone charging in the EE Recharge tent or with the new Juice Tube Power Bank swapping service.
The telecoms firm had earlier used plastic cows and tractors as the centrepieces of its hotspots.
EE director of brand Spencer McHugh said: "Glastonbury is the UK’s biggest and best-loved festival – there really is nowhere like it when it comes to creativity, artistic flair and sheer splendour on site and we know people want to document and share every special moment on social media.
"We are already tripling the capacity of our 4G network on site to keep up with the ever-increasing demand for data we see at big events, and the addition of these selfie-friendly hotspots, showcasing our latest 4G WiFi technology, will give everyone on site a chance to share their pictures and videos seamlessly."
