Google is adding a new feature, dubbed Driving Mode, to its Google Maps navigation app.
The new feature, which will be available on Google Maps for Android version 9.19 or higher, will search through auser’s driving history, online search history and existing location to identify and predict their next destination.
It will then suggest the best possible route to reach their destination, depending on the latest traffic and weather conditions.
A timeline has also been included within the Maps app, which lets users see their earlier destinations and routes.
A new settings screen will for user’s timeline will give more control over its operation. Users can restrict their data by clicking on the timeline settings.
Users will also be allowed to stop their Google Photos from displaying in timeline view.
Google Maps for mobile was released in September 2008 and features GPS turn-by-turn navigation.
