Canadian smartphone maker Blackberry has reportedly teamed up with US based aircraft manufacturer Boeing to create a self-destructive smartphone dubbed Boeing Black phone.

Boeing Black phone is likely to be designed by Boeing and will be capable of wiping out internal data if the phone is tampered with.

Apart from the self destructive features it will encrypt calls for users.

Boeing will only sell it to approved purchasers, including government agencies, and has begun offering the phone to selected customers, reported Reuters.

The phone is expected to have dual SIM cards and can be configured to connect with biometric sensors and satellites.

Reuters reported BlackBerry CEO John Chen as saying: "We’re pleased to announce that Boeing is collaborating with BlackBerry to provide a secure mobile solution for Android devices utilizing our BES 12 platform."
