Paypal’s growth and global strategy vice president Stan Chudnovsky is reportedly joining Facebook as chief of product management for messaging products.
The latest move comes ahead of the payment firm’s planned spinoff from online retailer eBay into an independent public firm.
Chudnovsky will team up with ex-PayPal president David Marcus, who joined Facebook six months previous as the vice president of messaging products.
Chudnovsky is set to start at Facebook in early February.
Under Chudnovsky’s reign, PayPal added 34 million users and has been surpassing eBay’s marketplace business with increasing sales.
During Q3, PayPal reported a 20% rise in sales to $1.95bn, compared to the 6% profit at eBay’s key marketplace unit reaching $2.16bn.
