Microsoft’s latest operating system Windows 10 is now active on more than 200 million devices globally.
The company has set a goal having 1 billion Windows 10 installations by 2017.
The latest OS has the fastest growth trajectory of any version of Windows, outpacing Windows 7 by around 140% and Windows 8 by almost 400%.
More than 40% of the new Windows 10 devices went active post Black Friday. Over 76% of the company’s enterprise customers are in active pilots of the OS.
Microsoft currently has more than 22 million devices running Windows 10 across enterprise and education customers.
Microsoft corporate vice president for the Windows and Devices Group Yusuf Mehdi said: "We continue to be excited – and humbled – by the incredible response to Windows 10.
"Overall, we are seeing significantly higher customer satisfaction with Windows 10 than any prior version of Windows."
Since the Windows 10 launch on 29 July 2015, Microsoft took various measures to attract more users in upgrading the OS.
Customers running Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have been allowed to download the Windows 10 software for free for a one-year period.
