Hewlett-Packard (HP) is reportedly planning to introduce a new series of smartphones and tablets running on WebOS.
The US IT corporation is also planning its netbook series that will run on the new mobile OS, media reports said.
The company’s plans to launch netbooks were discovered in a set of training manuals as reported by technology site Ars Technica.
HP executive vice-president Todd Bradley hinted to CNBC interviewer Maria Bartiromo earlier this month that the company is also planning a host of WebOS-running devices including a television.
He dubbed it the only true multi-tasking operating system which allows users to have 20 different applications open simultaneously.
Bradley added that WebOS was HPs reason for its $1.2bn purchase of smartphone maker Palm in mid 2010.
The acquisition, he said, would enable Palm to get aggressive in the highly profitable, $100bn smartphone and connected mobile devices market.
He told media persons at the Computer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week that the company would reveal more details at a special event next month.
